Love sayings of Confucius, the philosopher, that inspire and motivate
The sayings of Confucius below have been taken from The Sayings Of Confucius, as translated by Leonard A. Lyall.
Confucius, known as K’ung Fu-tzu (the Master) or K’ung (the Philosopher) was born in 550 BC in the land of Lu, province of Shantung, China. Confucius worked as a public servant in his early career and resigned on the death of his mother, as was a Chinese custom.
Confucius did not return to public service when his period of mourning was over but took up studying and teaching. During the time after Confucius left public service, the governing body of the land of Lu was in a disarray. Amid the turbulent times, many turned to Chinese philosophers for inspiration – among them, Lao-tzu, the founder of Taoism and Mo-tzu, proclaimer of universal love and, as his fame grew, Confucius.
Anarchy and the years thereafter
Fifteen years after the anarchy led by Yang Huo, the minister, Yang Huo was ousted from the land of Lu and peace was restored. Confucius re-entered public office and was appointed governor of a town in Lu. Confucius’ success led his enemies (competitors) to formulate a plot to remove him from office. This was achieved three years after Confucius’ appointment.
For the next thirteen years, Confucius wandered from town to town, treated with consideration but his teachings were generally ignored by the population except for some loyal disciples who recorded his teachings.

|“The young should be dutiful at home, modest abroad, careful and true, overflowing in kindness for all, but in brotherhood with love.”||“A man without love, what is courtesy to him? A man without love, what is music to him?”
||“Love makes a spot beautiful: who chooses not to dwell in love, has he got wisdom?”|

Wisdom is merry; love grows old.”||“Love of daring and hatred of poverty lead to crime; a man without love, if he is sorely harassed, turns to crime.”||“Wisdom has no doubts; love does not fret; the bold have no fears.”|
